Congratulations to Dr. Gwyneth Cliver from UNO for being named Nebraska German teacher of the year. She was recognized at NLA in October and received her award at the NATG fall meeting at Bellevue East on November 2.

Our fall meeting was held on November 2 at Bellevue East.  We discussed German Convention, upcoming nominations, T-shirts for DeutschCon, and testing opportunities for students.  The registration for National German Exam is now open.

German teachers are invited to join other German speakers at German-American Society Keller Abende.  The next night will be November 14 at 6 p.m.  You do not need to be a GAS member to attend.

Congratulations to the following teachers:
Yulia Evans  who received her doctorate from UNL.
James Ediger, who retired in May from OPS after 26 years.

The 50th anniversary of German Convention will be March 6, 2026 at UNO.  Thanks to Dr. Cliver for volunteering to host.  Look for information from UNO soon regarding registration.

The Exam, now in its 57th year, provides individual diagnostic feedback, rewards students through an extensive prize program, and creates a sense of accomplishment.
